Richmond Cricket Ground
The Melbourne Football Club plays against a combined Melbourne Grammar and Scotch College team on the RCG. Bell’s Life in Victoria describes the ground as, “anything but a fit state for it, being heavy and swampy in parts”.
An umpire was appointed at each goal to prevent disputes.
George Tait kicks both of Melbourne’s goals in a one sided match that lasted 45 minutes.

Dec. 23
The Richmond Cricket Club obtains permission from the Richmond Municipal Council to prevent public access to the pathway that crosses the RCG, albeit on the condition that the club gives up a portion of its outside boundary.
