The rules of Victorian Football are revised at a meeting comprising representatives from four major clubs. Colden Harrison, who drafted the revision, and Dick Wardill are two Melbourne delegates.

Colden Harrison, Dick Wardill, and William Hammersley comprise the Athletic Sports Committee that oversees and writes the rules for the 1866 Football Challenge Cup competition.

The RCG’s new pavilion hosts an annual meeting of the Richmond Cricket Club for the first time.
