1970 Chronology

February
Wednesday 5th
Jack Titus is one of 5 club delegates appointed to a League sub-committee to investigate the feasibility of Sunday football.
Titus is an advocate for the proposal. In 1969 Richmond and Footscray had attempted to have their Rd 9 match played on a Sunday.

Thursday 6
It is reported that the State Government will oppose any move by the VFL to have Sunday football
The Government, through its Chief Secretary Arthur Rylah, argues it would create more traffic problems and require more public workers to work on that day. They said the upcoming Rd 1 match between Richmond and Fitzroy on the Sunday in front of The Queen is a special occasion, not a precedent.

circa 18
Richmond sign John McDonald , who last played with Richmond in the Reserves in 1966. The Age reports he played 1 game then, and suffered a bout of rheumatic fever, then played with Wimmera Football League in 1969.
