Richmond captain Wayne Campbell ruptures his left Achilles tendon while celebrating a goal from Justin Blumfield, that put the Tigers in front of Geelong with less than five minutes to play.
He would not play again for the rest of the season

The funeral for Jack Dyer takes place in St Ignatius Church, Richmond. It is 54 years to the very day Dyer played his last game for Richmond. Kevin Bartlett and Bobby Davis deliver the eulogies.
