BIOGRAPHY
Aaron Edwards was born in Samoa and at the age of 2 migrated to Australia settling in Victoria . Because of his Samoan heritage he player Rugby Union with Endeavour Hills and also tried playing soccer before starting to play AFL football. He played Junior football at Hampton Park and Seaford before selected to join Dandenong Stingrays in the TAC Cup.
Aaron was drafted by the West Coast Eagles with Pick 52 in the 2005 AFL Rookie Draft and debuted in the senior team Round 11, 2005 against Richmond. Aaron was delisted by West Coast at the end of the 2005 season.
Aaron played with the Frankston Dolphins in 2006 and was described by the VFL record as the “ Goalkicking Gladiator “ and in
an amazing year he won the Frosty Miller Medal for kicking the most goals in the home and away season adding to his tally in the finals to reach 100 Goals and winning the J. J. Liston Trophy as the VFL’s Best and Fairest player for 2006 .
North Melbourne drafted Aaron with their sixth selection , number 82 overall in the 2006 AFL National Draft giving Aaron a second
chance at AFL Elite football. Aaron played 77 senior games with North Melbourne in six years and at the end of the 2012 season
North Melbourne traded Aaron to Richmond in exchange for pick 74 in the AFL National Draft. Aaron played his first senior game with Richmond in Round 10, 2013 against West Coast playing 9 games in the 2013 season including the losing 2013 Elimination final. After only playing 3 games in 2014 Aaron was delisted by Richmond at the end of the season.
