BIOGRAPHY
Alan was a lightly-built, but skiflul rover and ruck-rover who could run all day. Nicknamed “Dizzy” he originally started with North Shore before crossing to Geelong West. He also played with Hobart before playing briefly with Footscray, in 1976. He then spent a season and a half at Richmond and was a member of the Reserves 1977 Premiership side. He then moved to Beaufort as captain/coach. In 1979 he won the “Henderson Medal” as Best and Fairest in the Ballarat League. He spent 1980 with Geelong Reserves before returning to Geelong West. Away from football, he was an Australian Middle Distance running champion and he also won the 3200 metre race, at Stawell. Alan now works as a publican in his home town of Geelong.
