BIOGRAPHY
Alby was a full-forward. Recruited from Richmond Amateurs he had an average of almost 6 goals per game with that club. Prior to transferring to the Richmond Seconds in mid-1939 he kicked 96 goals in just 10 games, with his highest individual tallies being 18 once, 17 once and 15 twice. When he arrived at Richmond, he kicked another 46 goals to win the club’s Reserves Goalkicking award. In 1938 he kicked tallies of 25 goals once and 13 goals once with the Amateurs. His only senior game for Richmond was in Round 14 of 1940 against Hawthorn. He later spent a season with Hawthorn before serving in the A.I.F during the Second World War. He worked in the outdoor advertising field and died in 1965.
