BIOGRAPHY
Anthony played most of his senior football, with Richmond, in defence where he displayed maturity beyond his years. The number one draft pick in 1989, he played with the poise of a veteran and had a very advanced football brain for a young player. He successfully tagged several well-known players and he had the ability to win kicks himself. He also used the ball well, whether by hand or foot. In 1992 and 1993 he struggled to find form due to an illness, which affected his fitness and stamina. In 1994, he won the Reserves’ Best and Fairest after a consistent season. Delisted by Richmond in October, 1994, he spent 1995 with West Adelaide, winning their Best and Fairest.
