BIOGRAPHY
William was a fine all-round sportsman who hailed from Bendigo. As a footballer he was versatile and could play equally well in defence or attack. He played three games on permits in 1956 before returning to Richmond in 1958. He also played Senior XI cricket with the Richmond District team between 1957 and 1960 as an opening bowler. He batted 39 times scoring 295 runs with a highest score of 52 and took 86 wickets with his best being five wickets. He won the 1957/58 Club Champion award. William later coached throughout centre and northern Victoria and still lives in Bendigo.
