BIOGRAPHY
Bill was a solidly built ruck-rover who was a fine team man. The main features of his play were his strength and constructive handball. He was often found at the bottom of the pack trying to win possession of the ball. He originally started with St Kevin's Old Boys before moving to Richmond in 1973 where he ran second in the "Gardiner Medal" count for the Reserves Grade Best and Fairest Competition, as well as playing in the Reserves Premiership team. He made is senior debut in 1974. In 1975 he kicked the winning goal in the elimination final against Collingwood, only to be dropped the following week. He went on to win the Reserves Best and Fairest in 1975, before transferring to North Melbourne in 1976. He was a member of North Melbourne's 1977 Senior and 1978 Reserves Premiership teams. After four seasons with North Melbourne he transferred to Melbourne where he spent three seasons before returning to the Amateurs Competition. A physical Education teach he returned to Richmond in 1985 as a specialist coach. Bill now lives in the eastern suburbs.
