BIOGRAPHY
William was an extremely pacy ruck-rover, wingman and half-forward. Recruited from Spotswood, he spent three seasons with Richmond before crossing to Williamstown for three seasons. He retired from football to concentrate on his professional running career. In 1956, he won the Stawell Gift and in 1960, the Portland Gift. He was also Victorian Technical Schoolboy Champion. In 1983, he served on the Williamstown Match Committee.
