BIOGRAPHY
“Bob” was a full-forward or centre-half-forward. Although lightly built, his goalkicking stood out during some of Richmond’s lean seasons in the later 1950s. The main features of his game were his strong marking and accurate kicking for goal. During his time with Richmond, he won the Club’s Goalkicking award for the Seniors in 1956, 1957 and 1959, and the Reserves in 1955. He was a member of the Reserves’ 1954 and 1955 Premiership sides. Bob’s best individual goal tallies were 8 against Geelong Seniors, in 1955, and 10 out of 14 against Footscray Reserves in 1956. He scored 5 goals or more 12 times in senior football. He was forced to retire due to a knee injury. Bob died in April 1994.
