BIOGRAPHY
Robert was a tall, thinly built ruckman. A fine tap ruckman he was a strong mark and dangerous when resting in the forward-pocket. He came to Richmond via Collingwood where he spent six seasons and was a reserve for their 1970 Grand Final team. He was forced to move away from Collingwood due to Len Thompson, Graham Jenkin, a young Peter Moore and himself all competing for the ruck positions. He was a consistent performer who served the Tigers well during his four seasons. He was captain of the Reserves Premiership side in 1977 and left Richmond for his original VFA team Preston. He later served as Essendon’s ruck coach during the mid 1980s. Robert now lives in Eltham.
