BIOGRAPHY
Robert was a full-back and ruckman. Recruited from a local Richmond side he was a long-kicking defender who played his opponents closely, often playing it safe with a defensive punch-away. During the Second World War, he served in the R.A.A.F. He spent 10 seasons with Richmond before crossing to Keysborough as playing-coach. In 1950, he took part in a longest-kick competition, only to be beaten in the final by Brunswick full-back Ted Henrys, who later became a VFA commentator on Channel 0. Robert now lives in North Dandenong.
