BIOGRAPHY
Brenton was a wingman who spent one and a half seasons with Richmond whilst undergoing National Service training. He was a classy player who was a consistently high-possession winner. In his last season game for Richmond against Essendon in Round 21 of 1970, he collected 29 possessions. He originally started his senior career with South Australian club Sturt in 1965 and he returned there after playing with Richmond. He played in six Premiership sides during Sturt’s golden era of the late 1960’s and early-1970s and he missed playing in their 1969 victory because he was at Richmond. He was awarded Life Membership of the Sturt Football Club in 1973 and the South Australian National Football League in 1975. During the latter part of the 1980s he served on Sturt’s Board of Management.
