BIOGRAPHY
Cameron was a utility player who had a good turn of pace and could kick well with either foot. He was talented, strong and vigorous in his approach to the ball. He started his senior football at a young age, but was forced into early retirement due to constant hamstring problems. As a 17-year-old he was 19th man for the 1974 Premiership side. He also played in the Under/19’s Premiership side in 1973, and he spent 18 of his 57 senior games with Richmond as a reserve. After leaving Richmond he moved to Melbourne before spending three seasons at Essendon. In 1989 he served on the match committee at Box Hill and from 1990 until 1992 he was Chairman of Selectors at VFA club Dandenong. He had an active off-field role in Dandenong’s 1991 VFA Premiership win and now lives in Box Hill.
