BIOGRAPHY
Charlie played as a rover and in the forward pocket during his 8 seniors games with Richmond. Although he only played in 1 winning match during that time , he did contribute a goal in 5 of those matches. The press sometimes spelt his name as Benny.

His first, and last games were both against Collingwood. On debut he had a hand in Richmond's first goal (which didn't occur until the second quarter), and then kicked his first goal shortly after from a free kick. For the remainder of his Richmond games he appeared to play quite consistently, gathering praise after Rd 4 1912 match, and Rd 11 1912 match, and Rd 14 match. Bennie was cleared to Brunswick FC in April 1913.
His brother, Albert "Bert", captained the Essendon Scottish Society cricket team, and was killed in WW1, dying on 25th July 1916. Charlie, who was 1 of four brothers, became captain of the cricket team.
