BIOGRAPHY
Corey Ellis played junior football with Keilor in the Essendon District Football League playing in 8 consecutive Premierships and was awarded Best on Ground on 4 occasions. Corey moved to play at the Western Jets TAC Cup football. Corey played for Vic Metro in the2014 U/18 National Championships.

Corey was drafted by Richmond with pick 12 overall in the 2014 AFL National Draft making his debut with the Richmond senior team in Round 5, 2015 against Geelong. Corey suffered a serious foot injury in Round 12, against West Coast. The injury required surgery and it was later revealed that the injury had been caused by a genetic anomaly where Corey had been born with an extra bone fragment on each foot with further surgeries required to remove them.

Corey played no more senior games in 2015 . In 2016 Corey playing mostly across half-back played in 11 of the first 12 senior matches before suffering another injury setback with a groin injury which prevented him playing any more senior games in 2016 .
Corey played 6 senior games in 2017 and while he couldn’t gain a regular place in the senior team , playing on a wing and half-back was a good player in the VFL team which finished the season with a loss to Port Melbourne in the 2017 Grand Final.
Corey played 4 senior games in 2018 and at the end of the season was traded with Anthony Miles to the Gold Coast in exchange for a swap of future third round draft picks.
