BIOGRAPHY
Craig was a big, red-headed ruckman who became the centre of a clearance wrangle between Richmond and his South Australian Club, Woodville. He originally started his senior career with Woodville at the age of 17, and went on to represent South Australia five times before crossing to Richmond. He arrived at Richmond during the 1971 season. He possessed a fine spring and he had the ability to punch the ball considerable distances from either a centre bounce or boundary throw-in. He was the VFL’s top knock ruckman in 1972 and finished third in the club Best and Fairest the same year. He was a member of the 1973 Premiership side and the 1972 Grand Final side. He also represented Victoria once in 1975. After five seasons with Richmond, he crossed to Melbourne where he spent three seasons before retiring. Away from football, Craig worked in the hotel trade and now runs a post office at Seymour.
