BIOGRAPHY
David was a full-forward. A fine snap-shot, he moved well and was an elusive lead. He still holds the record for the most goals kicked by a Reserve Grade player in the club’s history. In season 1926, he won the Goalkicking award for both the senior and reserves’ sides. He kicked 4 goals in his senior debut and his best tally of goals, in senior company was 7 which he kicked against South Melbourne in Round 12 of 1926. He scored 5 goals or more on 8 occasions during his senior career. His highest goal tally in the Reserves was 12 against Melbourne in 1925. He won a total of 10 Goalkicking awards during his career. In 1929, he won the VFL Reserves’ Goalkicking award as well as playing in the club’s first-ever Reserves’ Premiership side. After leaving Richmond, he spent two seasons with Sub Districts League team Darling where he averaged almost 7 goals per game.
