BIOGRAPHY
David was a strong marking ruckman who was a great acquisition to Richmond. He was recruited from the Amateurs via Carlton. It was unfortunate that he suffered from continuous injury problems that restricted his senior appearances over his last three seasons. He was a strong, high mark, long kick and very courageous. During the 1990 season he was tried on the forward line in several games. His strong marking proved a headache for opposition defences; however, his accuracy was a problem and his highest individual goal tallies were 6 against Carlton and 5 against the Brisbane Bears. Constant back problems forced him to retire at the end of the 1992 season. In 1988, he represented the Australian Amateurs in the Bi-Centennial Carnival in Adelaide. Away from football he holds a Degree in Agriculture from Melbourne University. David also played District Cricket with University in their Third XI. In 1995, he played with Howlong and kicked 10 goals in his last game before retiring due to injury.
