BIOGRAPHY
David was a centre-half-flanker. Recruited from Ormond, he worked his way through Richmond’s Under/19 and Reserves’ Grade teams. In 1975, he was a member of the Under/19’s Premiership team, as well as winning their Goalkicking award. He also ran second in the Under/19’s Best and Fairest in 1974 and 1975. In 1976, he won the Reserves’ Goalkicking award. He made his senior debut against Collingwood in front of a large crowd on Anzac Day 1977 and acquitted himself very well, finishing the game with 5 goals. Early in 1978, he crossed to Oakleigh where he played some fine games before being struck down with a severe shoulder injury which forced him to retire. David later became a selector with Oakleigh before moving to Mornington as assistant coach.
