BIOGRAPHY
David was a ruck-rover and centreman. He grew up and played his early football in the Footscray area, playing with the Footscray Seniors between 1965 and 1973. During that time he won two club Best and Fairests and represented Victoria eight times. He was also selected in the 1972 All-Australian side. He captained Footscray in 1973, the year before he transferred to Richmond. Aggressive, skilled and a big possession winner, his kicking sometimes detracted from the rest of his game. He was a classy player who had great stamina and could run all day. David spent three seasons with Richmond and was a member of the 1974 Premiership side. He later played in the VFA with Port Melbourne and Yarraville before coaching for a year in Tasmania. His son Jarrod played senior football in South and Western Australia.
