BIOGRAPHY
Ernest was a back-pocket and half-back-flanker. He was a strong, steady defender who was forced to retire due to injury. He was a member of the 1920 and 1921 Premierships sides and after retiring as a player served on the Richmond Committee between 1925 and 1934, and again in 1941 and 1942. He was also Vice President in 1935 and 1936. He was awarded Life Membership in 1937 and when he died in 1980 was one of the last remaining 1920 Premiership players.
