BIOGRAPHY
Fred was a centre-half-back. Recruited from Eaglehawk, he was a strong type of player who was a fine high mark. His two senior games were played in the early rounds of 1936 against Carlton and North Melbourne. He retired after playing at Richmond and later became a serviceman during World War Two. His brother, Frank, played 27 games with North Melbourne between 1931 and 1939 and still holds the record for the most goals kicked by a player in one season in the Bendigo League. Another brother, Harry, played eight games for Melbourne in 1930 and 1931.
