BIOGRAPHY
George's only game for the club was Rd 6 1909 vs Sth Melbourne in the forward pocket in front of approximately 20,000 spectators. The following week he was replaced in the side by Doug Chapman
George's brother John "Jack" Ward was a noted player with Port Melbourne from 1899-1908 and seemingly received a permit to Richmond around the same time as he brother, though he never played for Richmond.
George served in WW1 as a private, but was discharged due to rheumatism. George died on 18 February, 1928, aged 39
