BIOGRAPHY
Gerald played most of his football as a half-back-flanker or full-back. Recruited to Richmond from Swan Hill, he was one of the best players in the 1973 Reserves Premiership side; however, he had trouble breaking into the senior team with the likes of Bourke, Morris and Keane already established. After three seasons with Richmond, he crossed to East Perth in 1976, before moving to Collingwood. He was a member of the Collingwood Grand Final side that drew with North Melbourne, in 1977, as well as playing in their 1979 night Premiership side. He later moved to Claremont where he spent five seasons before returning to Melbourne and serving as Essendon’s Senior Runner in 1986 and 1987. He now lives in Strathmore.
