BIOGRAPHY
Glenn was a half-forward. He spent a long time in Richmond’s Under/19 and Reserves team as well as two seasons with Prahran before gaining senior selection in 1977. Glenn was badly injured when he swallowed his tongue and choked after a collision with an opponent during a reserves’ game against South Melbourne in Round 21 of 1974. It was only the quick action by his opponent that saved him from choking. He was a very successful goalkicker with the Richmond Seconds and Thirds, finishing with almost 300 goals in his seven seasons at Richmond. He was a member of Premiership sides with the Under/19s in 1973 and Reserves in 1977. He holds the club record for the highest individual goal tally by a Reserves’ player in a Final. He kicked 8 goals in the 1978 elimination final against Fitzroy. Glen also kicked 9 goals against South Melbourne Reserves in the same year. His best effort with the seniors was 4 against North Melbourne in Round 2 of 1978.
Glenn played his best football in the VFA with Prahran firstly on the half-forward line and later in defence where he used his long kicking to advantage. He won Prahran’s Best and Fairest twice, captained their side in 1983 and also represented the VFA. He ran fourth in the 1981 “Liston Trophy”. Glenn now lives in the outer eastern suburbs.
