BIOGRAPHY
Grant was a lightly built utility player who could play in key positions in both defence and attack . He joined Richmond in 1969 as a senior player from Tasmania , however he spent his first season with the Thirds . He went on to win the VFL U/19 Competition Goalkicking award as well as kicking 6 goals in their Premiership side . He made his senior debut in 1971 playing mainly at full-back . Playing against Collingwood's century goalkicker Peter McKenna in the first semi-final , he kept him to 4 goals . Grant was a fine mark and good kick , and after five seasons with Richmond he moved to West Australian club Claremont , before returning to his native Tasmania . He then spent five seasons with Launceston where he represented Tasmania twice . Away from football Grant worked in the Public Service .
