BIOGRAPHY
Greg was a strongly-built, reliable half-back-flanker. Although not a fast player he read the play well, was prepared to back his judgement and used his body well in physical clashes. A very strong mark he turned in many consistent performances with a minimum of fuss and was a fine team man who could always be relied upon for his total commitment. He was recruited from Camberwell Grammar and spent a total of 13 seasons with the club after starting with the thirds in 1976. In 1977 he won the Under/19's Best and Fairest award as well as playing in their Premiership team. He made his senior debut in Round 1 of 1978 against Carlton, and was a member of the 1980 Premiership team. In 1981 he ran second in the Seniors Best and Fairest award and in 1987 he was awarded Life Membership. He was affectionately known as "Log". In his first season with Mitcham after leaving Richmond, he was runner-up in the Eastern Districts League Best and Fairest award. Greg is an optometrist and lives in the eastern suburbs.
