BIOGRAPHY
August was a ruckman and centre-half-forward. He was a strongly-built player who also played in the Geelong and Sydney Leagues during his career. After two games with Richmond he moved to Nhill. A larger-than-life charcter, he became somewhat of a legend at Nhill, with his ability to fry pancakes in his left hand, boil a chicken in his right hand and skin a rabbit with his teeth. August was a jackaroo by trade.
