BIOGRAPHY
Herbert was a follower. He joined Richmond from Mitcham and spent three seasons with the club. A very consistent performer with the reserves, he was unable to gain regular senior selection. He was a member of the Reserves' 1954 and 1955 Premiership sides as well as winning the Best and Fairest award in 1955. He then crossed to Box Hill in 1956 and remained there until 1961. Herbert later competed a degree in automotive engineering. He now lives in Mooroolbark.
