BIOGRAPHY
Hugh was a half-back-flanker who moved to live in the Richmond area when his parents purchased a local hotel. He played all his junior football in the northern suburbs prior to joining Richmond. His only senior game was in Round 6 of 1918 against St.Kilda. The Richmond Guardian newspaper described his performance as nervous and apprehensive although showing promise. After leaving Richmond, he moved to Essendon “A” in the VFA for three seasons.
