BIOGRAPHY
Hugo Ralphsmith debuted for Tigers senior team in Round 9, 2021 against GWS at Marvel Stadium , with former player Michael Gale presenting him with his No 45 guernsey. In a nice connection Michael Gale is a good friend of Hugo’s dad Sean Ralphsmith a former Saint and Hawk player.

Hugo had a successful junior career culminating in playing for Sandringham Dragons U/18 team and selection in the Vic Metro
U/18 team in the Australian Championships in 2019 playing 3 games but being overlooked for the final game.
Hugo was drafted by the Tigers with pick 46 overall in the 2019 NAB AFL National Draft. Hugo’s eventual draft selection had a few twists and turns and his dad Sean kept a diary of Hugo’s progress from U/18’s to draft selection .

Hugo is another young player who has had to be patient for his chance to make the Tigers senior team and has been hampered like so many other young players by the Covid19 pandemic . With the exposure of 6 games with the senior team in 2021, Hugo has a great opportunity to secure a permanent position in the Tigers senior team in season 2022.
