BIOGRAPHY
Ian was a stocky ruck-rover who was recruited by Richmond from Swan Hill. He was courageous in his endeavours to win the ball and a fine team player who bought others into the game with clever handball. He won the Reserves Best and Fairest in 1976, running second in 1977. He was also a member of the Reserves 1977 Premiership side. He crossed to West Adelaide in 1979 and went on to become a fine leader for that club. He is remembered as the captain of their last senior Premiership side, as well as being voted best on the ground. He also won West Adelaide’s Best and Fairest award twice and is a Life Member of that club. Ian is a fireman now living in Adelaide.
