BIOGRAPHY
Ian was a wingman, half-forward and ruck-rover . He originally started with the Hawthorn Thirds in 1972. He spent just over five seasons at Hawthorn before crossing to Richmond during the 1976 season. He remained with Richmond until the end of 1981. He was a strong, solidly-built player who gave the club good service. Not a fast player, Ian read the play well and used the ball creatively. He was one of three emergencies for the 1980 Premiership team and was unlucky not to be selected after two solid performances in the lead-up Finals. He was a member of the Reserves 1977 Premiership side. He was captain of the reserves in 1981 and also won the Best and Fairest award that year. In 1982 he crossed to East Perth and still lives in Western Australia.
