BIOGRAPHY
In 1925 at Castlemaine, Jack was coached to a premiership by Phil Matson (one of W.A finest coaches). The club was so impressed with Matson's ability there they offered him the Richmond coaching position in 1926. The League however refused the permit.

Jack Fincher was a rover who played in Richmond’s 1927, 1928, 1929 Grand Final sides. A clever player he was Richmond’s sole scorer in the 1927 Grand Final loss to Collingwood. Courageous and very competitive he contested every issue. When he came to Richmond he had played in excess of 100 games of senior country football and this experience helped him to acclimatise very quickly. Jack left Richmond in 1931 and spent three seasons with Footscray, before moving to Gippsland where he coached both Sale and Yallourn to Premierships. He died in 1970.
