BIOGRAPHY
Jack was a half-back and full-forward. Originally from Sturt, he played briefly with Richmond whilst undergoing military service during World War Two. His only senior game was as a reserve against Fitzroy in Round 12 of 1943. He returned to Sturt in 1946 and was captain in 1949. He was awarded Life Membership of the Sturt Football Club in 1948.
Jack also represented the Adelaide Cricket Club Senior XI in the South Australian District Competition, as an opening batsman and also played 5 first class games for South Australia.
His nephew Tony Giles played football for Port Adelaide, and represented South Australia.
Jack Giles died in 1994.
