BIOGRAPHY
Higgins began his football career at the East Malvern Knights junior football club before applying his trade at TAC Cup level for the Oakleigh Chargers. His 2017 season for the Chargers was his standout where he kicked 31 goals throughout the season and averaged five tackles.

He capped off the year winning the Morrish Medal as the TAC Cup’s best and fairest player, Vic Metro’s MVP in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships and rated as the No. 1 player by Champion Data in the 2017 NAB AFL Draft

At the 2017 National Draft, Richmond select Jack Higgins with Pick 17.
Prior to his elevation to the Senior team, he had only played pre season matches.
His first appearance for Richmond was in the AFL's newest incarnation - AFLX. He played in an unadvertised practice match of AFLX vs Hawthorn and then in the club's first official AFLX game vs GWS. He also appeared in several Reserves preseason practice matches in 2018, and played in the Seniors preseason JLT match vs Essendon in Wangaratta.

On his Senior debut game, he was presented with his guernsey by Michael Roach. Higgins kicked two goals on debut including one with his first kick, but was subsequently dropped by Hardwick the following week to allow Dion Prestia to return.

He received a Rising Star nomination in Rd 18 2018, after his 18 disposals (10 contested), one goal in the 54-point win over St Kilda.

Became a fan favourite for his enthusiastic goal celebrations and his post-match interviews.
In Rd 19 2018, he kicked a rather remarkable goal that saw him throw the ball up and kick it from around the goal post. The goal review system was used to determine if the ball was touched, not if he threw it up. This goal was awarded the 2018 Goal of the Year.

Midway through the 2019 season he was admitted to hospital on July 16th with bleeding on the brain after complaining of headaches following a VFL match vs Williamstown. Scans revealed an abnormality with blood vessels. He was ruled out for the remainder of the 2019 season.
