BIOGRAPHY
Jayden Short after failing to be picked up in the 2015 NAB AFL National Draft was drafted by Richmond with pick 11 overall in the AFL Rookie Draft . Jayden played 2015 in the Richmond VFL team and in March 2016 was upgraded to the Richmond senior list , replacing the injured Reece Conca , making his senior debut in Round 2, 2016 against Collingwood and played 16 games for the season at the end of which he was upgraded to the primary list with a “Rookie Elevation “.
Jayden continued to be a regular player in the senior team and was prominent with his speed and long kicking which saw him feature often at the top of the “ metres gained “ measure. He missed selection in the 2017 Premiership team , but displayed wonderful determination to be an important player in the Tigers 2019 and 2020 Premiership teams , winning the club Best and Fairest ( the Jack Dyer Medal ) for the 2020 season . A highly regarded achievement winning the Best and Fairest player in a Premiership year.
