BIOGRAPHY
Jock was a half-forward who was recruited from a local Richmond church team. He spent four seasons with Richmond, winning the Reserves’ Goalkicking award twice. He impressed in his first season with the Reserves, "In J McConchie they have discovered a "find", his high marking and forward play being a feature. He is already spoken of as a likely player for the senior club" (The Age 22 Aug 1931)
In his only senior Final, in 1933, he played one quarter with a broken collarbone. Jock left Richmond and played briefly with Sandringham, in 1935, before transferring to Fitzroy for two years.
Over the decades he had been incorrectly named as Jack in some newspapers, historical sites and publications. The AFL made the official change on July 30, 2019.
