“Joe” played most of his football in defence. He was recruited from Malvern Amateurs and spent a total of five seasons with Richmond and played at centre-half-back in Richmond’s 1942 Grand Final side. He left Richmond at the end of 1943 and coached locally for two years before moving to the country as playing-coach of East Ballarat. Joe was a policeman in the Victoria Police Force for 35 years. He now lives at Colac.
