BIOGRAPHY
John was a centre-half-forward and full-forward. He spent four seasons with Richmond and was a member of the club’s only night Premiership side in 1962. After leaving Richmond, he became a champion in the Tasmanian Football League. He played with Clarence and became one of their all-time leading goalkickers, as well as representing Tasmania four times. A fine mark and magnificent drop kick, he won the 1967 “Leitch Medal” for Best and Fairest in the Tasmanian Football League, as well as his club’s Best and Fairest. John now runs a hotel in Hobart.
