BIOGRAPHY
John Rombotis played football at Caulfield Grammar school and also played at both Sandringham Dragons and Central U/18’s. John was drafted by Fitzroy with pick 23 overall in the 1994 AFL National Draft . John played 4 games in 1995 and 22 games in 1996. At the end of 1996 season Fitzroy ceased operations as an AFL Club playing their final game against Fremantle on Sunday 1/09/1996 at Subiaco Oval and the week before played their last game in Melbourne at the MCG against. Richmond on Sunday 25/08/1996. Fitzroy merged with the Brisbane Bears at the end of 1996 becoming the Brisbane Lions. John re-entered
the draft system and was drafted by Port Adelaide with pick 6 in the 1996 AFL National Draft . John played 9 senior games but could not secure a place in the Port Adelaide senior team. At the end of 1997 John was traded to Richmond in exchange for Chris Naish . John played 13 senior games with Richmond between 1998-2000 and suffered injuries that hampered his ability to prove himself. John was delisted by Richmond at the end of the 2000 season.
