BIOGRAPHY
Justin Blumfield a nephew of Max Blumfield a former South Melbourne player , began his senior football career with Tuggeranong , ACT . He was drafted by Essendon with pick 62 in the 1994 AFL National Draft . Justin played in Essendon’s 2000 Premiership team and he was an established Essendon senior player but in 2002 , due to Essendon wanting to avoid exceeding their salary
cap he was traded to Richmond in exchange for Richmond’s pick 28 in the 2002 AFL National Draft . Essendon used pick 28 to draft
Tristan Cartledge. Essendon also traded Chris Heffernan and Blake Caracella in 2002 because of the same salary cap issues . Justin never found his form at Richmond playing 19 games in two years and was delisted by Richmond at the end of 2004.
