BIOGRAPHY
Keith was a centre-half-forward who was recruited from Hawthorn Railways. Strong marking was the main feature of his game and he represented Victoria three times in 1926. He was a member of the Richmond team that finished runners-up in 1924, but was forced out of football due to illness and injury. During his layoff, he served as a Senior VFL umpire during the 1928 and 1929 seasons.
He also played Senior XI District Cricket with Hawthorn-East-Melbourne between 1923 and 1939. During that time he batted 181 times scoring 3733 runs with a highest score of 137 not out. He hit 4 x 100’s and 9 x 50’s. He also took 304 wickets with his best performance being 7 wickets. An all-rounder who batted in the middle order and bowled medium pace, he was a member of Hawthorn-East-Melbourne’s 1927/28 Premiership side.
