Len was a fast skiful rover, who played with eight clubs in eight years. He was originally recruited by Richmond, from then VFA club Melbourne City; however, he only stayed for half a season. He then played briefly with St.Kilda in 1914, and Essendon in 1918, before crossing to Footscray in 1919.
An injury he sustained during the VFA semi-final of 1919 robbed him of a chance to play in the Footscray Premiership side the following week. He also played with West Perth between 1915 and 1917 before finishing his senior career with Hawthorn in 1920. Len was a printer.
