BIOGRAPHY
Matthew was a skilful player who was recruited from Frankston YCW to the Richmond Thirds in 1978. He made his senior debut in 1980 and played mainly as a wingman. A fine kick to position, he spent eight seasons at Richmond before crossing to Sandringham where he played in 1986 and 1987. He retired from football at a young age to concentrate on his business career as a shipbroker. Matthew is the son-in-law of John Nix.
