BIOGRAPHY
Percy was a full-forward, although he could play as a half-forward and relief ruckman. Originally from Geelong, he was a well-built player whose main assets were his strong marking and accurate place kicking. Percy won Geelong’s club Goalkicking award on nine occasions, two less than the club record holder Doug Wade. He scored 5 goals or more 11 times with his best effort being 7 against University in Round 18 of 1911. He also ran foul of the tribunal on two occasions serving 12 weeks in suspensions including one 8-game stint. He captained Geelong in two games and also represented Victoria twice. He crossed to Richmond when Geelong withdrew from the VFL, in 1916, due to World War One.
His highest individual goal tally, at Richmond, was 5 in the clubs’ first win over Collingwood at Victoria Park. He returned to Geelong in 1917 and later finished his career with Geelong’s VFA team.
