BIOGRAPHY
One of three brothers to play in the VFL (along with Selwyn, Richmond 1930 Gardiner Medal winner and Nth Melb/Coll player; and Ted who played for Carlton, Collingwood, Geelong and Footscray.)
Baker played as a rover and in the forward line and was 'nippy on the ground and passed the ball well' and a 'very accurate stab-kick'. He was a member of Collingwood's 1925 and 1925 grand finals.
He finished equal fifth in the 1926 Brownlow Medal.

His 1927 season was spent back at Wonthaggi.

During the 1928 VFL season Baker played Round 4 match for Collingwood then crossed to Richmond for the Round 11 match against Sth Melb and made 10 appearances in total. At one point, Footscray were after his services.
